1. What is the difference between Porcellanato and Ceramic?

The differences are several in different aspects. Porcelain and Ceramic are the absolute union between the clay structure and the glaze layer. Within these two basic components, ceramics and porcelain differ in the quality of these components.

Ceramics, on the other hand, cannot be placed in these sectors, because if moisture enters the plate, the water freezes and expands (like when a full bottle is left in the freezer), therefore the plate breaks.

A plate will be Porcellanato or not as long as:

Comply with National Standards (IRAM 11810 Standards) or International Standards (ISO 13006 Standards). These Standards are a set of tests and trials that are carried out on products, measuring their characteristics (absorption, bending, breaking load, chemical resistance, resistance to stains, frost, curvature, planimetry, straightness of the sides). Within both Standards, a plate is said to be porcelain when it has less than 0.5% water absorption and it is ceramic when it has more than 3% water absorption.

Unlike stones and marbles, which over time discolor and deteriorate in the elements, CERRO NEGRO Porcellanatos never alter their color with the sun's rays because they RESIST UV RAYS. IMPORTANT:

JOINTS. FUNDAMENTALS.

The more exposed to the climate the area to be covered is, and the more extreme the climate of the area, structurally verify the type of joint necessary. If the climate is very hot, enlarge the joints recommended for interiors by at least 1 mm more. Remember that with heat, all the elements involved in any structure tend to EXPAND. The joints and grouts absorb these expansions, preventing the floors from lifting and breaking.
